Reinforcing steel classification

Reinforcing steel grades

Construction covers a wide range of work, and the range of reinforcing steel in Shymkent is extensive. Even a professional can find it difficult to navigate. Different tasks require materials with different structures and purposes; reinforcing steel is no exception. Its classification was introduced to make selection simpler and more consistent.

A reinforcing steel grade, or steel reinforcement class, is a marking that indicates a bar’s strength limit, permitted dimensions, intended uses and other characteristics.

Parameters

A table of reinforcing steel grades helps you navigate the range of reinforcement available in Shymkent.

The table is straightforward: the first column gives the grade marking, and the following columns give its parameters:

weight and permissible diameters;
loads it can withstand and its resistance;
whether it can be used in prestressed reinforced concrete structures;
relative elongation;
bar length.

Ecowool

Ecowool is a new-generation cellulose insulation material. Its distinctive production method is intended to improve product quality and reduce material consumption. For open floor structures, the stated consumption is 30–32 kg/m³, compared with 35–38 kg/m³ for conventional cellulose insulation. The more professional the blowing equipment, the greater the difference can be.

Steel products

A high-rise building made only with binders and basic building materials would not last long. Weather and time affect it; gravity pulls it down, while human activity can also change its condition. Improper treatment of load-bearing walls may be especially serious. A weak structure can fail after even a minor tremor, ground subsidence, damage in the wrong place, or unusually heavy rain or wind.

Rolled metal products are essential in construction. They include steel and cast-iron products used in many fields. Reinforcing steel forms a framework within reinforced concrete: its bars are joined together to make a building stronger. Rolled metal is also used to make water and gas pipes, which supply homes with basic utilities. Steel angles are used in the structure of high-rise buildings. Construction is only one area of use: the source distinguishes ferrous, non-ferrous and white metal products, each with its own applications.

Paints

Paints are among the most popular finishing materials. Enamel paint is especially in demand because it is easy to use and leaves an attractive glossy surface. Its cost is also relatively low. To keep the finished surface in good condition for as long as possible, it is important to choose the right paint.

Cutting discs

Cutting discs are consumables used to cut steel, cast iron, wire and other materials. Thousands of varieties are available for home and industrial use.

These discs differ in several ways:

manufacturer;
price range;
the material they are designed to cut.

Metal-cutting discs are used to cut metal products and trim their ends.

Reinforcing steel

Reinforcing steel is a rolled metal product used to strengthen reinforced-concrete structures. Its first practical uses date back to the development of early water-supply systems. Today, demand from industry and construction continues to drive its production.

Modern ribbed reinforcing steel consists of round steel bars with a patterned surface. Grades A500C and A-III are widely used in residential, public, industrial and other buildings.

Smooth reinforcing bars have no ribs and are marked A-I or A240C. These carbon-steel bars are generally used in smaller quantities in construction and in the production of reinforced-concrete products.
